This is a nice 20th Century upright built by A.B. Chase of Norwalk, Ohio. A.B. Chase built exceptionally well made, expensive pianos from about 1875-1938. Defined chatoyancy - Chatoyance or cat's eye effect is an optical reflectance effect seen in certain figured woods such as Mahogany.
